Tanya Michna (who
writes for Harlequin as Tanya Michaels) is a summa cum laude
graduate of the University of Houston-Victoria and the author of
more than 40 short stories, books, novellas and published essays.
She is a popular event speaker and has been nominated for dozens of
awards, winning the Published Maggie Award of Excellence, the
Booksellers' Best Bet (two years in a row), the CataRomance Readers'
Choice, and the Sandra Anglain Chastain Service Award. She is also a
three-time finalist for Romance Writers of America's prestigious
RITA award.
Tanya is the
mother of two very imaginative children who find creative new ways
to turn her hair gray and keep her
stylist steadily employed. Tanya is a giant geek and you
should not get her started talking about Harry Potter, George R.R.
Martin, the
collective works of Joss Whedon, or DragonCon unless you have a few
hours to spare. She lives in the Atlanta area and is married
to a very patient and kind man who tolerates her crush on Nathan
Fillion. When she's not reading, on deadline or spending time
with her wonderful family, Tanya watches too much TV, including
Castle, Lost and Supernatural.
Tanya reads at least two books a week and has been known to break
out into songs from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog at random
moments.
Tanya believes
that the two coolest things about her job (three, if you count
working in pajamas) are
letters from readers and having her work published in foreign
lands she has yet to visit, including Korea, Greece, Portugal,
France and New Zealand, to name a few.
